The Genocide Archive of Rwanda team spent three days last week at the Transform Africa Summit held in Kigali. During the summit, the team joined local and international IT firms, start-ups and telecommunications firms at the ICT Exhibition where they presented the work of the archive to preserve and digitise the memory of the Genocide against the Tutsi. The summit gave the Archive team a chance to demonstate the functionalities of the world’s leading digital archive on the Genocide against the Tutsi.

The team met with hundreds of summit participants and shared with them the work that goes into building an online archive and the impact it is having in bringing about justice and promoting peace around the world. They also informed participants about how the archive is helping people to understand the past as well as their responsibility to be champions for humanity wherever they live. The archive’s stand was visited by different dignitaries and other summit participants who shared their impressions on Twitter:

Transform Africa is a three day summit held every two years and hosted by the Government of Rwanda and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). This year’s event gathered continental and international political and business leaders to make real the vision of digital transformation across Africa. In total, over 2,500 people attended the summit. Thank you to everyone who visited our stand.
